At 1530 of the most“porteña” avenue of all, Corrientes Avenue, we will find  San Martin Theater, considered a cultural emblem in the city of Buenos Aires, since it was built more than fifty years ago. After being closed for works for eighteen months, the San Martín Theater, the great jewel of public theaters in Buenos Aires, was reopened last May to offer the best staging in theater, dance and music.

Based on the work "The desert enters the city" and under the direction of Pompeyo Audivert, "La farsa de los ausentes" was released in the Room Martín Coronado the past 2nd of March. The play consists of a cast of more than twenty actors with characters ranging from a baby to a lawyer to a priest, all under the orders of César, played by Daniel Fanego. "The desert in the city" is a work in which Arlt was working in 1942, when he died, and was published ten years later.

La farsa de los ausentes is a timeless work where the imagination of the spectator plays an important role for the interpretation of the work and the reflection on the roll that the human being comes a game to the earth. A critique of man's constant search for an identity, of clinging to a belief in order to live. According to its author, Pompeyo Audivert, the work is proposed as "a theatrical experience that overcomes historical realism, exploding its secret, expanding it poetically."

The functions are represented from Wednesday to Saturday at 20:30 and Sundays at 20:00 hours. Its duration is 120 minutes without interval and prices fluctuate between $ 190 and $ 140, and the popular days (Wednesday and Thursday) we can get them for $ 95. The last feature takes place on August 20.
