Young people, children, adults and elderly people wanted to show their support for the family of the disappeared and asked for the appearance of Santiago Maldonado alive. On Friday it was a month since Santiago Maldonado disappeared. Santiago is a young artisan of 28 years coming from the province of Buenos Aires. On August 1st, he participated, supporting the Mapuche people in claiming their ancestral lands, in a march in Cushamen, province of Chubut and it was the last time the young man was seen.

For a few years, the Mapuche population has occupied lands belonging to Luciano Benetton, one of the co-founders of the famous Italian clothing brand Benetton. August 1st was the last time Santiago was seen. This one was in full protest when the Military Force intervened to evict the same one. According to some of those present, Santiago Maldonado was arrested by the State Security Forces. And nobody never heard from him again. On the other hand, the National Gendarmerie denies having detained him.

From Voluntario Global, both coordinators and volunteers, we wanted to be participants in the cause and join the march asking for responsibility and justice, but above all, demanding the appearance of Santiago Maldonado and the right to express ourselves freely.
